Jazmin Sawyers jumped 6.93m in round four to win women's long jump gold at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, six centimetres ahead of Nigeria's Ruth Usoro (6.87m). The 32-year-old from Stoke-on-Trent ruptured her Achilles tendon on her take-off leg, underwent surgery, and missed the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she commentated for the BBC instead of competing.
