Wiebes takes Tour de France Femmes yellow jersey months after Giro disqualification

Lorena Wiebes won the 2026 Tour de France Femmes opening stage in Lausanne, outsprinting Kim Le Court and Demi Vollering for her sixth Tour stage win and a four-second GC lead. In May, the UCI stripped her Giro d'Italia stage win and pink jersey — her bike was under the 6.8 kg minimum. SD Worx-Protime manager Danny Stam says a legal case against the UCI is pending.
