Pseudonymous Tehran-Born Artist Filmsaaz World-Premieres Queer Short at Locarno

Filmsaaz, professional name of Tehran-born artist Saleh Kashefi, world-premieres the 21-minute short 'Ãsheghetam' on August 14 at the 79th Locarno Film Festival's Pardi di Domani section. The film depicts a queer youth surviving a morality police raid at an underground Tehran rave. Locarno accepted it from a rough cut; it was finished roughly two weeks before The Hollywood Reporter's July 31 profile.
