Elder Scrolls Online delays 2026 content to 2027 after 213 ZeniMax Online layoffs

Elder Scrolls Online content planned for 2026 has slipped to 2027, game director Nick Giacomini confirmed in a 29 July 2026 statement. ESO will no longer ship updates on fixed deadlines, releasing them "when it's ready" instead. The shift follows Microsoft's cut of 213 jobs at ZeniMax Online Studios — part of roughly 3,200 Xbox reductions announced 6 July 2026.
