Documentary coalition urges UK Culture Secretary to block $110bn Paramount–Warner merger

Four documentary and advocacy groups submitted evidence to UK Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy on 31 July urging her to block the $110 billion Paramount–Warner Bros. Discovery merger. The Block the Merger coalition argues the combined entity would become the UK's third-largest linear broadcaster and place the CNN and CBS News archives under one owner for the first time. Nandy has said she is "minded to intervene"; a decision is due 1 September.
