Argentina's Milei Deploys Emergency Decree to Deport Foreigners Over Undefined "Hate"

On July 30, Milei signed Decreto 681/2026, amending Argentina's Migration Law to bar, deport, or revoke visas of foreigners expressing "hate" or hostility toward Argentines. The decree defines neither "hate" nor its enforcement scope. It follows FIFA World Cup disciplinary probes and Milei's unsubstantiated claim of a coordinated "anti-Argentina campaign." Brazil has recalled its ambassador over Milei's insults.
