Outfest Returns from Two-Year Hiatus as Sold-Out Four-Day OutfestNEXT in 183-Seat Theatre

Outfest returned July 23–26, 2026 as OutfestNEXT, a four-day edition at the Los Angeles LGBT Center's 183-seat Renberg Theatre, after a two-year hiatus driven by financial collapse, legal battles, and mass layoffs. Most screenings sold out or hit standby. The programme carried over 30 films and shorts, headlined by Gregg Araki's "I Want Your Sex" (Variety, 2026-07-30). Interim director Christopher Racster is the sole full-time staffer.
