New York judge awards interest in Nahmad Modigliani restitution case

A New York judge awarded interest to the estate of Jewish art dealer Oscar Stettiner in Greason v Nahmad, the decade-long suit over a Nazi-looted Modigliani, ARTnews reported on 30 July 2026. Justice Joel M. Cohen had ordered dealer David Nahmad to return the painting in April 2026. The estate now receives additional money beyond the work itself.
