Obama opens 2026 summer playlist with Glen Hansard tribute track

Barack Obama placed Glen Hansard's "Song of Good Hope" at the top of his 2026 summer playlist, posted on X on 30 July per Rolling Stone. Obama wrote: "It starts with a song Michelle and I love by Glen Hansard, a great musician who passed tragically this week." Hansard, an Irish musician, died in a motorcycle accident at 56. The track appeared on his 2012 solo debut "Rhythm and Repose."
