FA raises minimum discrimination ban from six to 10 matches

From the new season, the FA's minimum ban for discriminatory behaviour rises from six matches to 10 — over a quarter of a league campaign. The sanction covers players and participants found guilty of an aggravated breach involving protected characteristics. A shorter ban is possible only with a guilty plea and sufficient mitigation. Last season saw 10 guilty verdicts, including Preston's Milutin Osmajic banned nine matches for racist remarks.
