Mod reactivates disabled split-screen co-op in Halo: Campaign Evolved PC build

Modder JPurd123 released a Nexus Mods mod on 29 July 2026 enabling local split-screen co-op in the PC version of Halo: Campaign Evolved. The code and UI already exist in the PC build but were disabled by Halo Studios. The mod uses UE4SS — a scripting framework for Unreal Engine games — to add a second player at runtime without patching the executable. It supports two players on the Steam version only; console versions offer four-player split-screen natively. Development was assisted using Anthropic's Claude Code AI tool.
