Wild Ken Hill, a nature reserve bordering the estate in Norfolk, issued a Facebook warning describing wildfire risk as "extremely high." On 17 July, local officials had already banned disposable barbecues, campfires, vapes and cigarettes in the area. The estate later posted guidance: "bring a picnic, not a BBQ."
