
Fifteen books longlisted for 2026 Cundill History Prize, worth US$75,000 to the winner
Fifteen history books have been longlisted for the 2026 Cundill History Prize, administered by McGill University in Montreal and chosen from almost 400 worldwide submissions. The winner receives US$75,000; three runners-up each receive US$10,000. Emily Greenwood of Harvard chaired the jury after Timothy Brook stepped down. The shortlist follows on 2 September 2026; the winner on 23 October.
