Golden City artefacts reach North America for the first time, at San Francisco's de Young
Twenty artefacts from the Golden City — a 14th-century BC settlement on Luxor's west bank uncovered by accident in 2021 during a search for Tutankhamun's mortuary temple — go on public display in North America for the first time. "Treasures of the Pharaohs" opens at the de Young Museum in San Francisco on 1 August 2026, with over 100 loans from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and the Luxor Museum. The show travels to the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth in March 2027.
