Google moves to dismiss lawsuit claiming Lyria AI trained on 44 million YouTube clips
Independent musicians sued Google in March, alleging Lyria 3 was trained on at least 44 million copyrighted clips and 280,000 hours of YouTube music without permission or payment. Google moved to dismiss in June, arguing uploaders granted YouTube a "worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable license" to their content. The case is ongoing.
