Schmidt's dialogue-free debut 'September Afternoon' to world-premiere in Locarno competition

German film-maker Nicolaas Schmidt's first feature "September Afternoon" — 70 minutes, no spoken dialogue, shot in colour and black and white — world-premieres in the Filmmakers of the Present Competition at the 79th Locarno Film Festival on 10 August 2026. Kino Rebelde handles international sales. Schmidt's 2021 Locarno short received a Pardi di Domani special mention (The Hollywood Reporter, 30 July 2026).
