
Budget Office: Scrapping Victoria's Suburban Rail Loop Saves $21 Billion Over Ten Years
Victoria's Parliamentary Budget Office found that cancelling the $34.5 billion Suburban Rail Loop would improve the state's budget by $21 billion over a decade, after $1.8 billion in contract termination costs. The finding comes as new Premier Ben Carroll won't rule out redirecting the project's funds, weeks before a November state election.
