The 670-seat Bruin Theater in Westwood Village, Los Angeles, dark since Regency Theatres' lease ended in 2024, is set to reopen in October 2026 under Rui Pereira, operator of Toronto's Kingsway Theater. Pereira plans 35mm and 70mm film projection — formats most commercial cinemas dropped in the shift to digital — with first-run releases, classics, and special events, Variety reports.
