Cinema United backs state lawsuit, files sworn declaration to halt $110 billion Paramount-Warner Bros. merger
Cinema United CEO Michael O'Leary submitted a sworn declaration backing a multistate lawsuit to block the proposed $110 billion Paramount Skydance–Warner Bros. Discovery merger, Variety reported on July 29. A coalition of twelve state Attorneys General, led by California's Rob Bonta, secured a temporary restraining order halting the deal for months. O'Leary warned the combined company would carry $80 billion in debt that could hamper film production.
