Joe Miñoso departs Chicago Fire after 14 seasons; Cruz to be written out in Season 15's opening episodes

Joe Miñoso, one of four remaining original Chicago Fire cast members, is leaving the NBC series after 14 seasons, Deadline reported on 29 July 2026. He will appear in a handful of early Season 15 episodes to wrap the storyline of his character, Joe Cruz. Season 15 premieres 7 October on NBC.
