FIFA seeks £7.5 billion in private investment for the World Cup

FIFA wants over £7.5 billion from private investors — equity firms and sovereign wealth funds — to buy into the World Cup and its tournaments through a new $20 billion subsidiary, FIFA Forward Enterprise. FIFA says the money would expand development funding to over USD 10 billion, subject to member associations' approval.
