Valve releases Steam Machine CAD files under non-commercial licence

Valve published the Steam Machine's exterior CAD files on 29 July 2026 at gitlab.steamos.cloud, letting users design custom parts such as front plates. Released under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 licence, the files permit sharing and adapting but prohibit selling anything made from them. Engineer Pierre-Loup Griffais warned that modification damage voids the warranty.
