
Cregger's Resident Evil film is autobiographical, built around fear of bringing a child into a worsening world
Director Zach Cregger told Empire his upcoming Resident Evil film is autobiographical, reflecting private anxieties about whether it is right to bring a child into a world that seems to be getting worse. Protagonist Bryan, a Raccoon City medical courier, learns his girlfriend is pregnant. Sony's film, co-written with Shay Hatten, releases in cinemas 18 September 2026.
