Universal, Warner, Sony and HYBE propose barring fully AI-generated songs from music charts

Ten labels including the three majors and HYBE jointly proposed four chart-eligibility principles on 29 July 2026, per Billboard. Fully AI-generated songs would be excluded; eligible tracks must be primarily human-created, use authorised AI platforms, comply with copyright and personality rights, and carry AI labels. No charting organisation has adopted the principles. Billboard declined to comment.
