ACLU and 21 Groups Back Disney in FCC Licence Fight

Twenty-two advocacy groups including the ACLU, EFF and PEN America wrote to Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro on 29 July 2026, backing Disney against the FCC. Chairman Brendan Carr ordered eight station licence renewals years early; Disney filed "under protest," calling the order "unlawful, arbitrary, and unconstitutional." The FCC is also probing whether ABC's The View breached equal-time rules.
