Michael J. Fox to receive Bob Hope Humanitarian Award at 78th Emmys

The Television Academy named Michael J. Fox recipient of the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award, presented at the 78th Emmy Awards on NBC on 14 September. Fox, who disclosed his Parkinson's diagnosis in 1998, founded the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research in 2000, supporting over $3 billion in research programmes. The award has been given only six times in 24 years.
