"The King's Warden" becomes highest-grossing Korean film ever

KOFIC's H1 2026 report, released 29 July 2026, confirms "The King's Warden" grossed KRW163.1 billion ($112.4 million) from 16.91 million admissions since its 4 February 2026 release, making it the highest-grossing Korean film ever. The Jang Hang-joon historical drama led a Korean sweep of the top three, with Showbox taking a 48.6% distributor share (Variety).
