Kennedy runs 9.85, breaks 23-year Australian record for Commonwealth 100m silver

Lachlan Kennedy ran 9.85 seconds for silver in the 100m final at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, breaking Patrick Johnson's Australian record of 9.93, set in 2003. Kennedy also claimed the Oceanian record. Emmanuel Eseme of Cameroon won gold in 9.83, a Games record. Kennedy's silver was Australia's first men's 100m medal at the Games in 64 years.
