Lachie Kennedy ran 9.85 (+1.3 m/s wind) to shatter Patrick Johnson's 23-year-old Australian record of 9.93 and win Commonwealth Games silver in Glasgow on 29 July 2026. Cameroon's Emmanuel Eseme took gold in 9.83. No Australian man had medalled in this event since Michael Cleary's bronze in 1962.
