Bradford semi-pro footballer still without answers two years after racist abuse on the touchline
Umar Ali, a Route One Rovers substitute in Bradford, was subjected to racist and Islamophobic abuse by opposition spectators during Ramadan 2024. The Northern Counties East League fined the offending club £300 and docked nine points. Police identified spectators. As of July 2026, Ali has not been informed of any outcome. His manager's lobbying of the FA has gone unanswered.
