Evan Rachel Wood says she was never asked back for Practical Magic 2

Evan Rachel Wood told Entertainment Tonight she was not asked to reprise Kylie Owens in Practical Magic 2, set for release 11 September 2026. Wood, 11 when the 1998 original opened, said she offered to return for "one scene or one line" and was told the roles were being recast. Joey King and Maisie Williams now play the Owens daughters. Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest return.
