Anscombe joins Scarlets after injury-wrecked Bayonne stint
Wales fly-half Gareth Anscombe has joined the Scarlets after injury limited him to five appearances for Bayonne in France's Top 14 last season. The 42-cap international, who last played for Wales against England in the 2025 Six Nations, told BBC Sport he still has "a huge desire to compete and contribute on the field." The Scarlets finished 14th in the United Rugby Championship last term, second from bottom among Welsh regions, and have signed Wales prop Corey Domachowski and once-capped New Zealand forward Cullen Grace alongside Anscombe in a broad rebuild.
