Richard Thompson announces 20th solo album for October release on New West

Richard Thompson will release his 20th solo studio album, 'Hippies, Thugs, and Heroes,' on 16 October via New West Records, Pitchfork reported on 28 July. The 12-song record follows 2024's 'Ship to Shore.' Lead single 'Cocaine Walking, Booze Talking' is out now. Thompson said in a press statement he bought a drum kit to demo fuller arrangements for his band. Tour dates were announced alongside the album.
