France unveils €30m museum security plan after gold Celtic collar stolen in Burgundy

France's Culture Minister Catherine Pégard unveiled a 33-measure museum security plan on 27 July 2026, backed by €30m over three years. The move came five days after two men smashed a glass case at the Musée du Pays Châtillonnais in Burgundy and stole the Lady of Vix collar, a solid gold Celtic artefact dating to around 500 BC. One suspect has been arrested. The collar remains missing.
