Zelda movie's Link actor couldn't play Breath of the Wild at launch — he was eight and had no Switch

Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, 16, told GamesRadar+ he couldn't play Breath of the Wild when it launched in 2017 — he was eight and didn't own a Switch. He watched YouTube playthroughs instead. Ainsworth plays Link in Wes Ball's live-action Legend of Zelda film, filming in New Zealand. Shigeru Miyamoto announced his casting in July 2025.
