AFM amended lawsuit says Universal and Warner cut session musicians out of Suno and Udio AI deals
The AFM filed an amended complaint on July 24, 2026 in New York against Universal Music Group, Warner Records and Atlantic, alleging the labels licensed members' recordings to AI firms Suno and Udio without paying or crediting session musicians. Warner CEO Robert Kyncl called the Suno deal "a victory for the creative community." Both labels seek dismissal.
