Whiston wins Commonwealth gold as father watches poolside for first time in 17 years

Brock Whiston set a Commonwealth Games record to win women's 100m breaststroke SB8 gold in Glasgow. Her father Gel, recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, watched poolside for the first time in 17 years. After the race he told her he was happy to support from home. Whiston, 29, represents England and missed SB8 gold at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
