True Colours Acquires Worldwide Rights to Venice-Bound Peshmerga Drama

Rome-based sales company True Colours has picked up worldwide rights to Halkawt Mustafa's "No Paradise If You Are Killed by a Woman," Deadline reports. Avan Jamal stars as a Peshmerga sniper rescuing her sister from ISIS in Mosul. The Norwegian-Kurdish director drew on years of conversations with real Kurdish women fighters. The film premieres Out of Competition at Venice's 83rd edition in September.
