Screen Scotland eyes replacement Edinburgh TV festival as original departs for Manchester

Screen Scotland is weighing plans for a replacement TV festival in Edinburgh after the 51-year-old Edinburgh TV Festival confirmed its relocation to Greater Manchester from 2027. Former creative chief Rowan Woods delivered recommendations to the agency following a Glasgow roundtable with around 20 industry figures. An announcement could come before the final Edinburgh festival opens on 25 August 2026.
