Williamson stuns Ramsay-Peaty to take 100m breaststroke gold at Glasgow 2026

Sam Williamson won the men's 100m breaststroke at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, beating fastest qualifier Adam Ramsay-Peaty — formerly Adam Peaty. Ramsay-Peaty's 58.97-second season-best from April's British Championships would have won gold. He broke down in tears afterwards. Twelve years earlier, as a 19-year-old unknown, he won his first major title at the same Glasgow pool.
