Canal+ EBIT surge driven by Showmax shutdown, not growth

Canal+ H1 2026 adjusted EBIT rose 68% to €433 million, but stripping out MultiChoice, growth was 13%. MultiChoice's own EBIT jumped 160% to €143 million after it discontinued Showmax, the streaming platform that lost €52 million on €23 million revenue in H1 2025. MultiChoice synergies contributed €120 million, including the Showmax impact. CEO Saada confirmed full-year guidance.
