Lyles matches lifetime best 9.79, then pulls up injured in 200m final

Noah Lyles equalled his lifetime best of 9.79 to win the 100m at the 2026 USATF Outdoor Championships at Icahn Stadium, New York (July 23–26). Two days later he pulled up in the 200m final, blaming a hamstring cramp. USC's Garrett Kaalund won that race in 20.04. The 9.79 matched the fastest time of Lyles's career.
