York City sack title-winning manager Maynard three months after promotion

York City have sacked Stuart Maynard roughly 12 weeks after he led the club to the National League title and promotion to League Two. The dismissal came in July 2026, days before the new season. Maynard guided York to the fifth-tier crown in April. Neither the club nor Maynard has publicly detailed the reasons for the split.
