WA Police investigate after country football player knocked unconscious by on-field punch

WA Police are investigating after a player in his 20s was punched in the side of the head from behind during a Lower South West Football League match in Kojonup, 260 km south of Perth, on July 26, 2026. Footage shows a Bridgetown player struck a Kojonup player, who lost consciousness and suffered facial injuries. The victim was treated at Kojonup Hospital. Police urge anyone with footage to come forward. The league has referred the matter to the Country Football WA tribunal.
