Final Fantasy 14 on Switch 2 requires a separate subscription, even with the same account

Final Fantasy 14 launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on 4 August 2026, but Square Enix confirmed the platform needs its own monthly subscription — separate from PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, even on the same account. Players holding two active subscriptions get a 50% discount on the Switch 2 fee. No Nintendo Switch Online membership is required. A free trial is included.
