AFL locks in State of Origin for 2027–2029 after 58,000-strong Perth return

The AFL has scheduled three State of Origin matches through 2029. WA hosts SA in 2027 — 50 years after the first Origin fixture at Subiaco Oval. SA hosts Victoria at Adelaide Oval in 2028. Victoria and WA meet in Perth in 2029. AFL boss Andrew Dillon confirmed the slate after more than 58,000 attended the 2026 return, where Victoria beat WA. No other states are included.
