McEvoy wins first individual Commonwealth gold in 50m freestyle at Glasgow 2026

Cam McEvoy won the men's 50m freestyle at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games in 20.97 seconds — the only finalist under 21. The world-record holder had won three previous Commonwealth golds, all in relays. This was his alone. Flynn Southam took silver in 21.44 and Jamie Jack bronze in 21.47 as Australia swept the podium.
