Alice Tai wins third straight Commonwealth 100m backstroke S9 gold

England's Alice Tai won the women's 100m backstroke S9 at Glasgow 2026 in 1:11.93, 2.13 seconds clear of Australia's Gemma Sellick. The 27-year-old has now claimed this event at three consecutive Commonwealth Games — Gold Coast 2018, Birmingham 2022 and Glasgow 2026. S9 groups swimmers with limb deficiencies or coordination impairments at a comparable level of function.
