Evans wins 100m breaststroke gold after entering as world's fastest this year

Angharad Evans won gold in the women's 100m breaststroke on Sunday, converting the fastest qualifying time into a championship title. The 21-year-old entered the meet holding the world's fastest times of 2026 in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke. The 200m, scheduled for Wednesday, had been tipped pre-meet as her stronger event.
