David Jonsson cast as the new Black Panther in Black Panther III

Marvel Studios confirmed British actor David Jonsson, 32, as the new Black Panther, with director Ryan Coogler announcing the casting on stage at San Diego Comic-Con on 26 July 2026. Jonsson will play the son of Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa. Black Panther III is set for US cinemas on 15 December 2028. Coogler told the Hall H crowd the character "grows up" and "comes of age." Letitia Wright, Winston Duke and Kevin Feige joined them on stage. The Guardian reported.
